To eliminate this we can integrate SOAR with Threat Intel sites like virus total, abuse ipdb,etc so that we can define a playbook which will automatically check the reputation and initiate blocking based on the reputation check.

I've used Palo Alto (Demisto) as an orchestration tool in the past and I got to say, even if it's one of the most reliable and user friendly interface, it's challenging to make it work fully as it intent. We took 2 years to make it work as we wish and we were far from achieving 75% SOC optimization. Not to blame the solution, but for us to be able to map from all SOC use cases the automatable workflows, it took a while (we had a bit over than 5000 detection rules across 5 different SIEMs at that time)

This might seems repetitive, but it's an important tip I can give about tools/solutions: you should not rely 100% on tools/solutions to mitigate your risks. There's no such plug-and-play device that identifies everything in your network and implement protective/preventive controls. Also, 0 alerts may indicate that you have a huge number of gaps (false-negatives). So follow this: - Proof of Concept before purchasing, testing all your requirements - Commitments, assumptions and deliverables clearly stated in the contract (so avoid intentional misinterpretation from your vendor) - Implement the solution that adapts to your organization (not other way around) - KPIs, test and continuously evaluate and improve any of your security solutions
