I make a checklist of important things to find and keep in mind: Resources: Whether monetary, time, or other resources I am able to/willing to allocate. Opportunity cost: Of leaving the situation as is for other priorities vs. dealing with it now. Triage is important for a startup. Constraints: What are hard lines towards a solution I'm not willing to cross? Is this current situation 80/20 from the ideal?: Calibrate towards the current situation If I find that I have higher priorities, that I do not have the capabilities based on constraints to deal with the problem, and/or the current implementation is already at 80/20 in implementation to time spent: IT IS NOT A PROBLEM. Something else is. Past this point, it is Root Cause Analysis.

1. Map all the interfacing processes. Not all processes need changes. 2. Get feedback from relevant stakeholders and don't forget to get inputs from process owners 3. Identify the processes which needs to be improved. 4. Remove the bottlenecks, irrelevant steps and update formats/ tools accordingly. 5. Communicate the process changes effectively and implement it 6. Lastly don't wait for processes to become inefficient, keep on reviewing and updating them on regular basis.

By analysing and understanding exactly where the biggest risks to a company are we are able to target specific areas to strengthen our potential shortfalls in doing so better prepare the company for the future.
