Identifying your career vision and prioritizing your choices is a process that requires self-reflection, and experimentation. Be patient with yourself and embrace the journey of discovering your passion and your strengths. How to do that? Get involved: volunteer work, internships, or part-time jobs related to your major. These experiences will allow you to gain firsthand knowledge, understand the tasks and the responsibilities, and determine if a particular career path aligns with your expectations. Keep in mind, that you can seek advice from professionals, or career counselors who can provide valuable advice and help you understand the job market, industry trends, and potential career paths.

The prioritizing goals among the wishlist is basically a natural process or approach. The ones' mutliple goals are basically lies on a single platform with variety of skillets or background experience. I have been seen and observed professionals having multiple goals and it all of there interest which overlaps with each other with marginal difference. The best practice is need of the task and expected outcomes. In academia faculty undergo through various roles and responsibilities. This set the tune for goal to become professional advisor, public speaker, influential writer, student mentor, public relation, policy makers, event manager, etc. These all task requires primary condition is commitment and interest.

One thing that I have always done is write down on a piece of paper what the end result was that I wanted to be at on one side and then write down where I currently am on the other side of the paper. Everything in the middle can be steps to help get you where you want to be. It could be continued education, peer leadership experience, leading small teams, breaking into a new industry, networking, etc. Having the thoughts and ideas written down to visualize it is a great place to start.

This is very critical process as many professionals are now a days using a concept of SMART. This check eventually hands with the performance of individual to team and then the organization. My practice and observations as leader and co-worker made me to list the task with their severity. These task required to map first with vision or long term goal and identify which are areas where immediate contributions are must. This makes easier to estimate the growth in the sector and breakthroughs. And few tasks and goals where contribution may come with sharpen goals and mission path. Such exercise list the skills required to manage work with positive team work spirit. At every task there must be periodic analysis on attainment to tune approach.

For example, if your goal is to increase your income, specify the exact amount or percentage increase. Ensure that your goals are relevant to your overall career vision and personal values. Ask yourself why each goal is important to you and how it contributes to your long-term aspirations. Goals that align with your values are more likely to be fulfilling.

SMART goals are critical to personal and professional success. Ensuring you are able to identify specific and measurable goals will ensure that you have something to aim for. It is also important to understand that circumstances, feelings, and even goals change every 90 days. Knowing that, it is important to revisit your objectives quarterly to ensure that you are on the right track.

Another valuable prioritization technique, often employed by teams, is the Value vs Effort Matrix. Using this approach, individuals with multiple goals can assess the long-term value of each goal against the effort required to achieve it.

What I don’t see? How about any of these that make me happy? That make me feel good about myself and others. Somewhere in all this equation and SMART, it lacks the human features that make us people. I would add something personal.

The Eisenhower matrix is also a great way to structure your day and categorize things based off the needs of your own individual business. If you are more focused & productive in the mornings, schedule the critical needs first thing in the morning. If you like to ease into the day and get a slower start, schedule the less important tasks in the day to build up to critical needs.

It takes discipline to factor in time for Quadrant 2 everyday, no matter how little. It is the most important and yet most postponed activities as there will almost always be urgent matters that consume your time.

I have always had the mentality of setting more aggressive deadlines and milestones for myself than what my leadership typically would. For instance, if my goal is to hire 55 candidates in a calendar year, my personal goal is 60-65. For deadlines, always try to have big projects complete at least 24-48 hours prior to delivery. This will give you time and space to truly understand and appreciate the work that you have put into it and if you are the one presenting the work, it will give you more mental clarity to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

Setting deadlines can often cause issues if you miss these. Rather than deadlines in terms of time, look at how you can take a longer period to focus on the outcome. It might be taking a small amount of time to learn something eg 5 minutes a day and then build up to the time as you create the habit. Build in ideas for different strategies to help you achieve your goals - podcasts, reading, events and learning. If you focus on a single area it can become overwhelming. But also be realistic with your other priorities and goals. Lots of cliches are true in the area such as - a marathon starts with a single step or to go up sometimes you have to go sideward.

What’s that saying…a goal without a deadline is just a dream (or something like that). One of the most meaningful gifts you can give yourself in the pursuit of goals is to establish milestones and hold yourself accountable to them! What rewards can you build in for yourself along the way? Who can check in on you and support you? Figuring out that accountability piece might be the trickiest part of the journey toward achieving your goals.

Factor in celebration to encourage you on this journey. Mark the accomplishment of your efforts to keep you going. For example, keep a journal to jot your journey, paste sticky note to cheer yourself on, do something to that put a smile on you etc

Acknowledge the importance of understanding your limits; having too much on your plate can be counterproductive. If the juggle becomes overwhelming, prioritize your goals judiciously. Consider postponing some objectives for the future or making the tough decision to remove them from your current focus.

The goals may change time to time in a career as per the needs of the chossen field or organization. However, this is a natural process and one has to be keen into making the fine focuse and sharpen the goal with required skill sets. I believe that, although we should be the protagonists and drivers of our career development , it is almost impossible to achieve our full potential without the feedback and support from others. On one hand, feedback is the opportunity to understand our strengths, our development areas - in particular, those that we are "blind" to and are often crucial for our growth. On the other hand, support from others in terms of official or unofficial mentoring, coaching or simply an exchange of experience and knowledge helps us go beyond our own beliefs.

Start with your current context In my experience, the personal context plays a paramount role in any career goal strategy implementation (from defining the goal to accomplishing it). So start with the assessment of your personal context, including internal and external resources and risk factors and of the situation that signaled the motivation for setting a career goal or multiple career goals. Should it be hard to identify your personal resources and the ones in the surrounding environment, talk to a someone who can listen to you and help you spot your blind spots :). Then ask yourself, why do I want what I want in my career? Is it something that I should do, like to do or it is something that I am already good at? Clarify the why.

In my opinion this all exercise is a self evaluation of yourself. If you are honest in your real assessment you can do wonders

Un aspecto importante es que tenemos que aprender a ser flexibles, asumir que todo cambia es fundamental además pueden pasar "sucesos imprevistos" que hacen que el rumbo cambie adaptándonos a las circunstancias pero siempre teniendo presente hacia donde queremos ir. No sólo hay que pensar en sucesos imprevistos "negativos" también pueden presentarse en el camino oportunidades que nos pueden ayudar a tomar otro camino que puede ser más ágil o que nunca habíamos explorado que nos pueden llevar al éxito. Por eso en lugar de "anclarnos" en perseguir el mismo objetivo que nos está costando mucha energía y no lo conseguimos, quizás valorar el modificarlo aprovechando las nuevas oportunidades que nos proporciona un "viento a favor".
