Which civil engineering software offers the most advanced geotechnical analysis tools?

Every software has different capabilities. In my opinion, any software that is user-friendly and has the latest constitutive models to model actual field problems(3D) is best for a true geotechnical design.

Some trail holes simply to to see what is there basic first.then all the normal plates tests.and then get up to date systems which ever is practical.

In my experience, Slide works for most commercial/public situations and can be run quickly and cost-efficiently- PROVIDING YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING. 3D is more challenging. However, in peer reviews, too often I have seen unreasonable soil parameters and cases where only circular failures are considered. I've even seen embankment analyses where only drained or undrained analyses were considered, and bridge embankment analyses where varying water elevations were not considered. There is always a risk of becoming too reliant on the "magic black box programs" without having an understanding of the base theories.

many software can offer a good analyse especially in geotechnical engineering but when i made my research about pile foundation in soil with risk of liquefaction, i used Plaxis 2D and 3D and the results was really good using finite element analysis and giving how much the differential settlement will be

Yes I agree , software which is considered best for analyzing slope stability is Geostudio because it offer method for analyzing slope stability, including limit equilibrium method and finit analysis

Yes I agree foundation should with stand loads and prevent excessive settlement however soil behaviour is also important to prevent settlement we need to start design of foundation from underground soil analysis and need to take foundation for best suitable soil. If your soil is week you need design heavy raft foundation. In my experience I have done analysis of three storey plaza we do soil analysis in plaxis and suggest best economical raft
