Craft your dream reports with formulas and visuals. Most accounting software offers some report customization as well, but for basic needs only. Pre-built with Customization: Leverage data warehouses (ie SQL) by using tools like Jet Reports or DataRails. These offer pre-built reports you can tailor to your needs or complex scenarios. Excel: Ideal for customization, but setup takes time and skill. Database Reports: Faster setup with pre-built features. Both empower you to control your cash flow reports to gain cashflow insights!

Cash flow projection is not just about predicting the inflow and outflow of money, but it's also a strategic tool for business plan development. Cash is simple you can invest the money in a timely manner. It's simple. collect as quick as you can. You do have to value customer commits but cash out the door does nothing so terms on collection terms are key.

BFC is quite simple to implement and setup to simulate P&L and Balance-sheet statements and get a forecast view on long-term cash-flow performance, debt and treasury position. I found it very intuitive to set up and really easy to use. I do recommend that tool for any medium and large size companies. It really helps to get a good overview of your operating, investing and financing performance in the long run and helps you to make the right investing and financing choices to sustain your activity.
