It save lots of time and testers don't want to do the repeated mundane jobs. Testers can use their valuable time to test the product in creative and innovative way to test how the system behaves in edge case scenarios which help to build quality and more robust product.

In the past automation tool was expensive and have required learning time & skills to develop also automation was done when the product was stable. These days situation is different you can use automation tools early in your development stage onwards right from the first sprint. It gives lots of advantages automation will run and make sure all the sprint1 stories are working correctly before you start the sprint2 testing. you can use it for repeated testing in multiple environment can be used for smoke, regression, load also integrating automation in ci/cd will allows you faster and frequent release. In future with the use of ML/AI automation test scripts/scenarios can be automatically generated from user behavior and patterns
