The first step to stay current with diversity and inclusion best practices is to be human and to treat other people as human beings. And not to see them primarily as members of certain groups. Which means that each one of us has to change and confront ourselves with our blind spots, prejudices, biases and so on. That will hurt and therefore it is much easier to rely on politics, numbers, corporate guidelines, industry best practices and things like that. These are important tools, but they will amount to absolutely nothing, if each of us does not change the way how we look at members of "other" groups. Be human, treat other people as human beings and diversity and inclustion will fall into place.

2 Network and collaborate

Another way to stay current with D&I best practices is to network and collaborate with other HR professionals, experts, and practitioners who share your interest and passion for this topic. You can join online or offline communities, forums, groups, or associations that focus on D&I issues, challenges, and solutions.
