Community is a collection of individuals. Every individual is a collection of ideas and information.The ideas are all the inferences of the truth as experienced so far in life by that individual. Finding the truth is knowing all there is to know. As a community all are together trying to get to some angle or some specific perspective of the truth. Once that is identified then helping each one get an accurate perspective is a cake walk. Making sure that this perspective is in alignment with existential reality should be a check point for each person. Once that is done then expanding the perspective to know the unknown till everything gets known. All that is to be known is finite.The capacity to know have ideas is infinite in everyone.

2 Plan the research

The second step of PAR is to plan the research process with the community members. This involves defining the research question, the objectives, the methods, the roles, the timeline, and the ethical considerations. You should involve the community members as much as possible in the planning, and ensure that they have a say in the decisions and that they understand the benefits and risks of the research. You should also consider how to document and communicate the research process and findings.

At the OutRights national conference in 1992, the question for the participants was WHETHER as queers we wanted to be included in the patriarchal family law institutions. As a queer cis lawyer who has spent a career acting for queer and trans people the question of connection to the community is crucial. To ensure that the community knows what the legal issues are, and what the choices are about how to proceed, I have organized community group and many conferences. That has informed my work challenging the 25% of provincial laws that explicitly discriminated against queers in BC., and working with transpeople, a community in relation to which I am an ally not a member.
