Having had leadership training in a range of situations, and then had the task of training leaders in an Emergency Services environment, my answer to the Keeping Up-to-Date question has been to make it a habit to find interesting leaders and read up about them. Don't only find ones who are in your industry, and never discount those who have failed. Remember styles and measurement of success can be contradictory. Ghandi said he would rather give up the idea of an independent India rather than have the bloodshed that would result. Ben-Gurion said the opposite when he said that the loss of many lives would be justified if it meant that the Jewish people would have a homeland. This makes me think how many contradictions there are in management
