There's no standard answer because everything can influence the situation (i.e. same products but different channels whose act in the same market) Conflicts start because MBOs are always "personal targets" This starts a personal war wasting energy and not building collaboration between different sales departments One possible solution is working on to a global MBO where variable part will be paid when the branch targets will be achieved Obviously in this way you can't recognize or award the top performer but creating a personal multiplier factor, the top performers can increase their own prizes How does it reflect on business? If I work for myself I won't work to reach the global target so I won't multiply my MBO So, why don't collaborate?
