All the posts that I read are lacking this insight, there are only 2 possible jobs for you in Consulting without any extra degree or a course. 1. Policy Consulting: If you have an interest in the Government policies, rules and regulations, then this field is for you mate, especially if you are into MUN, Youth Parliament and etc... 2. Corporate Consultancy: The people with Data Analytics are only hired for this role here as they need people who understand major economic principles and can always analyse the data of a company to make informed analysis. In my personal opinion, the best way to break into consulting with an Economics degree is to have relevant internships during your course of studies along with a blog outlining your knowledge in various strategic planning techniques and showing examples of how you have assisted individuals/firms even at the most minute level. Alternatively, you could gain mentorship under a known and independent consultant and learn his methods of analysing to show recruiters that you possess the required knowledge and skill-set to be a consultant. Furthermore, there exist a plethora of online courses which you can complete and showcase your certificates to employers knowing it will provide additional benefits.

Bear in mind there are many different types of consulting firms and activities, so identifying the specific value you bring from your economics education and experience to a specific company or role is important for success. An economics degree offers a breadth of skills and knowledge that is useful for many types of consulting, but it is key to understand how these are relevant to the specific companies and roles being considered. Networking with peers, alumni and individuals in consulting companies of interest can help identify the specific skills and knowledge that would add the most value to your desired consulting career, helping you tailor your applications and differentiating you for your target companies or consulting specialisms.
