One book that I personally enjoyed reading was "The Goal" by Eliyahu M. The book was a novel type and took me through the lens of the protagonist who was a manager of a large manufacturing plant. The book takes you through a very common struggle, work life balance, improving production rates and keeping the plant functioning in a lean way. As the story unfolds, it is really beautiful to see how the protagonist connects his work with small events of his life; like camping trip, which taught him about bottle necks. This is a must read and an easy read for anyone interested in lean management.
