Communication can be effective, but it is not always clear, transparent and objective; constantly focusing on political correctness and exaggerated diplomacy might dilute the needed impact of the communication. Being such a big cost house, if your purchasing strategies and vendor relations lack ethics then the organization bottom line suffers. If one has its interests prioritized over company or department best interest, then again the bottom line suffers. All the other skills can be taught, including analytical and communication skills.
