When you are deciding what mocap solution to buy, make sure to consider technical support in your time zone. E.g. not just comparing "data quality and price" but add up "tech support" in the euqation that would help you to have objective choice that is reliable enough for your production case. Sometimes a cheaper solution without support on the same continent might cost you a lot more.

There really is nothing that competes with XSENS MVN in my opinion. Optical data is marginally cleaner but with the amount of times I need small reshoots I can’t tell you how incredibly convenient it is. When you layer that in with zero occlusion and the ability to just go run outside and do things like drive a motorcycle or car, or jump out of an airplane… go to a gymnastics studio or parkour gym. I would always have an MVN suit anyway, and really I have found for the last few years I haven’t needed anything else.
