I would like to say PLCs are the best invention that has ever made for the automation field, it’s a way compact and simple to use amid having so much instructions, In my experience I came to an industry with zero to little knowledge in PLC but I was able to catch up so easily for Ladder logic, it’s so much easier to learn and very powerul device to work with
