On the contrary, a lot of conflicts are rooted in a "not my job" attitude. In my experience, teams are more productive when individuals are not limited by their roles. While it is true that a PM is accountable for product definition, a QA is accountable for quality, and a developer is accountable for execution, teams work best when members are ready to step up, collaborate and go beyond their role definitions.

I believe that establishing clear roles for each team member can prevent conflicts and foster more robust working relationships.

In agile methodology, organizational structure and adherence to the principles of agile structure are very important. Agile thinking cannot be pursued in conventional structures because it will conflict with the organizational culture. The next important issue is team building and proper interaction between teams. Look at models that the team can use move conflicts from being about individuals and positions to needs and solutions!

The best culture is one where team members have strong opinions that are loosely held. It’s healthy to have vigorous debate about direction and strategy but essential that once decisions are made or data is gathered that everyone rows in the same direction.

Also, encouraging the team to provide the data validated with happy and unhappy flow scenarios could open up channels for the end user and evaluate the system at this stage itself. If possible deploying code in the user acceptance testing environment would help provide a glimpse of dos and donts to the customer and in turn help stabilise the system from the development point of view. I would completely rewrite this section. It should be "Embrace diversity and differences." Respect is not necessarily an active approach. Leadership needs to create a workplace where employee well-being is integrated into daily job routine. Having once a year or twice a year outing should not be classified as "well-being" initiatives.

Teams must have the trust and openness to discuss their stress and emotions. The more teams acknowledge each person's humanity, the better they can support each other and become stronger. For over a decade, I have included "How are you feeling today?" as part of standup. We should know how our teammates are doing and try to assist and support them whenever possible. Hiding stress and emotions from the team, even if unrelated to work, will only cause problems. Openness and empathy are critical to a healthy team.

I’ve always been able to find or cultivate a group of very trusted colleagues with whom I can truly vent my frustrations as well as brainstorm solutions. I don't think conflict can be or should be avoided. If conflict is managed well, it helps to build a culture where the best idea wins and not only the idea of the HiPPO or person who shouted the loudest. However, in order to manage conflicts, all parties must be able to present their case, and have an avenue where a final decision is made (and explained to all parties involved). Then it's time to disagree and commit. Transparency and clear decision making is critical. Otherwise, each conflict builds more resentment.

I encourage dissent. It is important to weigh up the pros and cons before solidifying on one solution. It is part of the creative process. The issues arise when people react negatively to having their opinion challenged. Confident people are able to withstand the challenge and not take it as a personal attack. Getting an emotional reaction can be good data for yourself to become more self-aware about some deficiency you think you have but are not willing or able to articulate. It is okay not to know everything and it is okay to make mistakes but if people are willing to share their views with you it is a gift that whilst you may not agree with should be pondered rather than dismissed out of hand.

If you avoid conflict then you'll very probably experience the "common knowledge" effect, artificial harmony and cliques within the team. A certain amount of conflict is natural in any team and desirable in Agile teams as we want to tap into diverse experiences, opinions and technical backgrounds. Don't avoid conflict in Agile teams. Instead promote positive, productive conflict and help team members actively listen to one another with the intent to understand and find common ground.

Stop considering different viewpoints as conflict. Conflict is an open clash between two opposing groups. Why are you clashing with your teammates. There are actually competitors out in the market in open conflict with. Why do you treat teammates as someone who has to be defeated. Calm down. Listen to on another’s ideas. Find ways to test those ideas, gather feedback, and build a consensus. While building consensus is hard it is far more productive than defeating your teammates.
