This is essential because once your user base fully understands the value proposition, first they can derive full utility from your solution and secondly also where there is no fit with your solution they can be able to give you feedback on areas where there are gaps or areas where there is friction that is hindering full adoption. I'll take a slightly different tact on this one. 100% we need to include the users in every stage of a project especially when you're developing new solutions. But when you can also include your software engineers in that involvement and not putting that solely on the product owner everyone benefits. Far too often developers are siloed and building widgets that they have no real understanding of except some BO/user story written by someone (PO) in the middle of the process. To be clear, I am not advocating that we do not need POs, of course we need them, I am just advocating that everyone needs to own the products that we are building. And the more understanding at each level of the other's needs, the better our products will be.
