The process flow mapping is important to design any product line. The lean manufacturing will help to reduce the 7 losses & will help to improve the efficiency.

Strong TPS aka Lean principles implementation with core TPM fundamentals of application of ‘Initial Control’ pillar will give a better result in all PQCDSM areas. Toyota is still classical example even today.( P Productivity, Q Quality, C Cost, D Delivery, S Safety and M Morale)

I relay to my supervisors and team leaders that “Lean” helps us work smarter by removing unnecessary steps. Think of it like cleaning up your workspace/area to make everything easier and faster to find. So, when we cut out what doesn’t add value, we can speed up our work, make better decisions and be more efficient. It’s all about always of finding ways to improve and to get even better. Agility methods help us to stay flexible and adapt quickly to changes. We break our work into small, manageable pieces and check them often. This way, we can quickly fix any issues and tailor exactly what our client wants. looking for ways to cut out unnecessary steps and work together more closely.

Lean has several important tools to eliminate waste and increase productivity. The first step for me is to use the value stream map (VSM), as it is the way to identify bottlenecks and balance the steps in the process. This way it is possible to work where it really generates value to the process.

Using the common tools in lean principles and deploye them in every path and in every departments also using 5S , six sigma , kaban and kiazen

Scrum is one of the widely adopted methodologies where decisions are based on observation and experience throughout the process, allowing continuous adaptations to increase the value delivered to the customer. It is a flexible and adaptable methodology, with environments where the success of this tool is greater, environments where needs and requirements can change rapidly.

Feedback throughout the design process can save tremendous amounts of both time and money. In my experience design teams are focused on making the best product, but rarely consider aspects like availability of components, handling and storage features, and even in some cases manufacturability. By taking a phase gated approach with mandatory review and sign off by a cross functional project approval team including purchasing, distribution and manufacturing, it forces consideration and input form experts in the entire supply chain. It's amazing the small changes that design considers inconsequential but can save the company hundreds of thousands of dollars every year.

The exchange of information during project execution among those involved is crucial for achieving high accuracy, realigning project expectations at each "stage." This saves time and money in project execution.

The objectives behind Design for manufacture is to design products which can be produced without major complexity in manufacturing process and desired product performance is achieved. To ensure maximum efficiency of DFM, APQP and DFM should be adopted together. Use technology to record and evaluate product performance at each stage and also for interlinking the processes. The project management team should take the responsibility of smooth execution and implementation of DFM and APQP. Conduct review meetings in regular intervals to monitor actions and effectiveness.

First, I would embed a Manufacturing Engineer with at least one successful product launch and some Operations experience in the Design Team, right from the start. Second, I would embed their counterpart from Marketing. These two would have discretion to ramp up or down their time commitment based on the Team's needs.

One of the biggest issue that creates gap between design and execution is non communicated changes So I strongly believe structured communication matrix and a proper change management system are the 2 key factors that can fill this gap

Design for functionality not for designers ego, don't gold plate, consider design for robot manufacture and assembly as an operator has two hands and two eyes makes it easier to complete.
