What steps do you take to guarantee the quality of your manufacturing products and processes?

Quality of manufacturing products/processes is maintain by checking , inspecting, testing, measuring, and evaluating your outputs and inputs at different stages of the manufacturing cycle. Also , you can use various QC techniques such as process capability study (SPC), sampling, checklists, audits, and visual inspection to maintain guarantee of quality in manufacturing products or processes.

Improving quality is crucial for organizational success. Here are six steps: 1. Innovate relentlessly: Invest in R&D to foster innovation. 2. Implement rigorous quality control: Set clear standards and use inspections and testing. 3. Continuously optimize processes: Identify bottlenecks and streamline workflows. 4. Embrace customer feedback: Seek and analyze feedback for product/service enhancements. 5. Harness data-driven insights: Utilize data analytics to identify areas for improvement. 6. Cultivate a culture of learning: Provide training, encourage collaboration, and learn from failures. By following these steps, you can establish a solid foundation for quality improvement, ensuring long-term organizational success.

The first step above, "what quality means," should have already been defined by the quality system. The system is the first step & the foundation. If the system isn't there then it must be established. I agree with the following steps of understanding what the customer, stakeholders and regulatory requirements. Up front planning is next & critical & it starts with the review of the required contract. Quality must be a part of this step, I see that most companies fail here & then pay for it at the end. Risks and mitigations need to start at the beginning and not in the middle or end, when it's too late. There is so much more to say, so I will jump to the deepend...Inspecting quality in is poor and costly, build it in... stop inspecting.....

In my experience this is the most crucial part… - use the stratification method to create buckets - create mean specifications for each one of them and finally, - define quality criteria to audit based on contractual or environmental requirements

In my experience following in addition to above tools, become key tools as well to put more control. These are more leading indicators as well; - apply control charts, product manufacturers have continuous data for I-MR chart would be required. - run it regularly and spot out of control pick points - apply guage RnR to review the key standards of accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility.

One thing I find interesting in this article is there isn't a large emphasis placed on the actual manufacturing of the product at the manufacturing site. You can make a great product in the lab because you can change the equipments performance to easily make the processing for the product work. This is not necessarily true for a manufacturing site. The company I worked at used a pilot plant that would process the product first during and after the development of the product to address the processing issues upfront. We made 1 gallon batches that were very successful when scaling products up to 10,000 gallons.
