Hybrid and Cloud based solutions have been key in the last few years to efficiently enable remote work leveraging DAM infrastructure. By moving proxies to the cloud, the ability to edit is now much less constrained by geography.

From the perspective of a Formula 1 team where you need assets QUICKLY, think about how you get those assets directly from track, think about how you upload larger edited files that you need to distribute quickly. Having an aspect of a Hybrid DAM is considerable in this day and age. Where you need large cold storage and remote editing this can be powerful machines back at offices and content editors can remote access in and edit on the fly using proxies.

One thing to think about I would say is think about the end goal of your DAM but also think about the workflow which will be required before, during and after the DAM. How does it integrate? How do users workflow integrate with the DAM to upload content/download content?

This will be brand related, some DAM's will have great UI's and a product design team, others will be basic but still user friendly. Only you know your content, so when choosing a DAM think about who is going to see your content and how will they view it. Choosing something that is user friendly is a great starting point.
