My favorite use of console.log is to log your variable as an object. So - console.log({myVar}) instead of console.log(myVar). This will log out an object with “myVar” as the key name and the variable value as the value - making it considerably easier to read and keep track of your logs.

I wouldn't say this is a debugging technique i general. This is more like a clean code pattern. If you have a mature codebase with a lot of custom hooks. I could think of creating a specific set of hook wrappers for testing purposes... But this is a very long-term stuff.

Few important things which can help in lint and test setup: - Plug lint rules and light weight UAT tests using git hooks, in developement cycles. - Execute E2E tests in CI/CD pipeline as post deployment app functionality verification. - Use any widely used lint configuration, for example: Airbnb, rather than adding every rule from scratch.

I recently heard a lot about my misconfigured prettier haha. Having code that is not matching the guide lines regarding spaces and member ordering inside a file doesn't look as pleasing. On the other side I currently think that it's much less important than writing clean and easily understandable code. Don't get me wrong. It's not a "choose clean code or pretty code" thing. It's just that a lot of people overvalue the effects of having one space character before and after a curly brace.

This can help you break out of a loop. In my experience I tend to find myself digging a hole when trying to debug a styling issue, where I keep making the same changes for hours and expecting things to change. This can happen with any problem you're trying to solve but I believe with CSS this can happen much more easily.

Sometimes some bugs are easy to fix if you take a step back and think about it. Not everything needs to be fixed in a warrior style or done with brute force. when writing typescript try to find the types definitions of variables to properly reference them. Your code might be running but if you have errors in the console try to fix them, these would be helpful, or even patch the npm package that may be causing the error, that way you prolly might get yourself an open source contribution.

In my experience, you can utilize the IDE default debug to set some breakpoints and profiling the variables I used Webstorm IDE and created javascript debug before running the project

Try to adapt test-driven development for your application. I have learned that it works in the frontend. In frontend development you might not have written tests like you would with NUnit in a backend application, but the process of red-green-refactoring remains the same. The only difference: The testing part is done manually by your eye. Keeping your components in your component library dumb and getting all the data provided by the outside (inversion of control) helps massively to test at another end of the application, without the need for e2e at every corner.
