Onboarding relates to the learnability aspect of products. You should log whether changes in your onboarding process increased feature adoption or shortens the learning curve. Learning curve is usually assessed by measuring task completion rates of cohorts: sending your first newsletter in your new newsletter app takes considerable time; the second, a bit less. After a few sessions, you likely have a steady workflow and it takes roughly the same amount to do it. The inflection point is the number of these “few” sessions needed to have a stable worklflow. How much does it decrease by onboarding? And how much is the average steady task completion time with and without onboarding? This measures your onboarding’s effectiveness.
