Branded subtitles are a great way to add text-on-screen that look far better and are more flexible in terms of placement than platform-baked captions. Always opt to add your own branded captions to serve a purpose of a mostly “on mute” audience without taking away from the visuals of your video. This works well for live action as well as motion graphics video— however most motion graphics video have enough context on screen without subtitles, but keep it in mind if your motion graphic video has a voiceover.
