MS Teams, Viva Engage, Email, PowerPoint, Video Conferencing, Video Recordings, Social Media tools like Linkedin, X, Instagram, Tik-Tok, Facebook etc. are all communication tools / platforms. Written letters, In-Person meetings and conversations are also tools. Taking the time to asses which tool when is important. Consider the audience, the message and the type and level of engagement you require from your audience. Is this 1 way communication or 2 way. Open ended or timebound?

You should consider the type and complexity of your communication, the level and frequency of your communication, the size and diversity of your audience, and the availability and accessibility of your communication tool or platform. We are working to deliver a broader understanding of all the communication capabilities within the Microsoft 365 platform. Many users struggle in making a plan to remain consistent with how they leverage the platform's various tools for communication. A matrix of this would be really helpful for some baseline recommendations.

To ensure effective communication and interpersonal relationships, it is not enough to use communication tools or platforms. You must also improve your communication and interpersonal skills, such as listening, speaking, writing, and reading. Listening involves paying attention, understanding, and empathizing with others. Speaking involves articulating, persuading, and influencing others. Writing involves composing, organizing, and conveying thoughts and ideas. Reading involves comprehending, analyzing, and evaluating written information.
