When developing a user management system, we used the ER model to capture relationships between users, roles, and permissions. There can be only one PRIMARY KEY in the table, if there are other columns which are required to have unique values other then primary key, it has to be enforced using the UNIQUE constraints. PRIMARY key don't accept Null values while UNIQUE Key column allows one Null value.

For a reporting dashboard, we denormalized data to speed up query performance. Instead of joining multiple tables for each report, we combined frequently queried data into one large table. Although it increased redundancy, the read-heavy nature of the project justified this approach. We saw a significant boost in performance, especially for reports that were run multiple times a day.
