What are the most important skills for an application developer?

One thing I've found very helpful is to have a positive attitude towards the progress that is happening. No matter how many new languages or frameworks are introduced, learning and mastering it should always be a fun task. Now most important skill sets to have are: 1. Reading the already existing code. -> This I think everyone should be capable of. Reading the code and planning the path for its execution should be the #1 priority. 2. Cyber Security. -> Since everybody now is having a smart phone, It has become a playground of hackers. Having basic knowledge of cyber security and implementing the same (prevention) in the logic is a must. 3. User Experience (UX) Design: -> One with a grasp of UX can create apps that are easy to use.

Don't be afraid to write "throw away code". I've found that creating minimal examples helps me better understand larger concepts. If I start a complex project or function by writing out pseudo-code or placeholders/stub implementations, then I can quickly understand how the overall architecture might need to be laid out. I take advantage of concepts like "inversion of control" to keep my code modular and clean. I'm an advocate of SOLID design principles because it keeps my code flexible and maintainable. If my code confuses me, then it will likely confuse others, so I tend to refactor often to make things simple.

- Break the problem into small pieces, that way you can improve your solving skills and have more information about the problem - Communication with other people is a key topic - Hability to prioritize and change focus, since sometimes new problems appear and they can be more important than the one you are focusing.

A good developer is a developer with a lot of experience in his/her field. Capable of elevating himself/herself in the project to understand the Architecture needed and the needs/objectives/requirements of the clients/users. Communication skills are required to fully understand the requirements as the users will certainly struggle and circle around with the requirements multiple times during the project lifecycle. Then be able to translate the architecture in the required technologies (Plateforms, Languages, Cloud services, Databases, etc.). Collaboration skills will be mandatory to work with the team and progress efficiently. Additional important Soft skills: Honesty, communication, dedication, ethics, professionalism.

Of the different cloud skills I've learned, Docker and Kubernetes may be the most valuable. Being able to create and use Docker images is critical in the current ecosystem, as it's a common way to package your own applications and to leverage third party applications. Having an understanding of building images and running containers in Kubernetes has been vital to my work. There are *many* ways to manage application deployments at scale, but most of them are either built on or designed similar to how kubernetes operates.

In the modern landscape of application development, cloud skills have become increasingly vital. As businesses and organizations continue to use cloud computing for its flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency, having a robust understanding of cloud technologies is crucial for application developers. I have learned AWS and google cloud services and is a very valuable asset in my skills. As we will advance in technologies and to make different platforms work together effectively, cloud skills is a must have in your resume.
