Cloud Security is about IAM and network protection and IAM+Network is the new perimeter because network microsegmentation is hard in cloud..I follow trends and products and services which come and try to solve problems around this area.. apart from that I focus on Detect and respond capabilities.. Which are these days revolving around Gen AI. RSA conference, AWS reinforce and re invent are some of the ways to keep abreast around these tech.

the newly popular cloud security concept of confidential computing, which prioritises data protection even during processing. Confidential computing minimises risks from insiders or compromised parties by developing secure enclaves using hardware-based encryption and isolation. In addition to improving data security, it allows secure exchange of information and collaborative work among organisations while upholding privacy and legal requirements. My own recommendation would be to study and include secure computing into cloud security plans in order to improve data security and properly handle new threats.

It's essential to comprehend Identity and Access Management (IAM), permissions, and safeguarding measures. While many allocate significant time, finances, and resources towards data plane security, only a handful prioritize control plane security equivalently. Without ensuring the security of control planes, true Cloud Native security remains elusive.

Containers ≠ Kubernetes (Simplifying Security for Container Workloads) Containers are a fantastic solution to the common "It works on my machine" challenge developers often face, and they offer an excellent avenue to integrate security seamlessly. Nevertheless, Solution Architects should assess whether a basic VM/EC2 with a Docker runtime suffices for specific use cases, or if there's a genuine need to establish a full-fledged Kubernetes infrastructure. In essence, Kubernetes can be seen as a cloud within a cloud, introducing additional layers of operational and security complexity. Implementing and managing it necessitates specialized expertise and financial commitment. Evaluate simplicity of VM/EC2 with Docker vs full Kubernetes setup
