From SQL Database administration perspective, the most important and foremost players in cloud computing are Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP. All of them have several product offerings for IaaS and PaaS cloud platforms and one can choose as per their requirements. The major benefits of any computing platforms are reduction is upfront CAPEX cost, ease of setting up, high data redundancy and availability, cost-effective solutions and flexibility of managing your own budget meaning control over billing etc.

There are multiple database services offered by AWS, including RDBMS, NoSQL, GraphDB, DocumentDB. I have worked on PostgreS db (RDS, Aurora) and also done some things with DynamoDB. Amazon RDS offers MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server. Recently they've added DB2 LUW. 2Amazon Aurora is a high-performance, MySQL and PostgreSQL-compatible database built for the cloud, offering scalability, performance, and availability. Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service that provides low-latency, scalable data storage for web applications, mobile apps, and gaming platforms. I haven't had the chance to work on GCP services yet, but will love doing so in the future. Cloud SQL: A fully managed relational database service that supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. Cloud Spanner: A globally distributed, horizontally scalable, and strongly consistent database service. Cloud Firestore: A flexible, scalable NoSQL database for mobile, web, and server applications. Bigtable: A fully managed, scalable NoSQL database service for large analytical and operational workloads. These GCP cloud database services provide a range of options for storing, managing, and analyzing data in the cloud. Each service offering features such as scalability, HA, security, and performance to support modern cloud-based applications.

If you need guaranteed performance, there is no other way than Oracle OCI. It's often as simple as that - if you would say "maybe it's fast" on-premises, they would roast you. Why would anybody accept that in the cloud?
