The use of AR for space exploration and travel, is by far the most practical and the best way to "teleport" to distant places and which either may be difficult to access or may be too expensive to go to. Often, through the use of drones, live views of distant place can be obtained on VR, without even moving from the comfort of your sofa at home. Same concept may be used in space, say with special "rocket" drones for inspection of a spacecraft externally. When it comes to training, similar concepts can be used to make learners accustomed to a real place (say historical building or place) and view in actual and 3D, then mere 2D in a book or plain screen. Given the the current environmental view, the technology reduces carbon footprint too!!

Another important use of AR in space is to assist with navigation and exploration. AR can provide useful information and directions to the crew and passengers, such as the location and status of the spacecraft, the orbit and trajectory of the destination, and the landmarks and resources of the surface.
