For any kind of changes to happen, it is always necessary to start from assessing the current situation in the company, i.e. AS-IS, which helps to clearly identify the gaps in the arena; required to be addressed in priorities. In addition to using internal assessment tools such as the SWOT, it is necessary to perform assessment of the external situations using the tools like the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environment and Legal (PESTLE) analysis as restructuring a company not only depends on the internal situations but also it is highly affected by a lot of external factors depending on the nature and business objectives of the company.

Es importante que al evaluar la situación nos hagamos de expertos que nos desafíen al hacernos preguntas incómodas, que analicen la información de nuestra empresa, que hablen con nuestros colaboradores, que revisen nuestros procesos, ya que muchas veces estamos tan enamorados de nuestra empresa o negocio que tenemos una ceguera de taller. Desde mi experiencia esta práctica me ha permitido dar cambios radicales en mi empresa, confieso que ha sido una de las prácticas más incómodas que he vivido pero más enriquecedoras.

Existe una metodología que me gusta mucho llamada Scaling Up, te permite en una hoja poner todo lo que quieres lograr con tu negocio, pero entre las cosas que más me gustan es el BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) porque te permite tener un rumbo claro y por otro lado las prioridades estratégicas, ya que también te permiten identificar en donde pondrás energía y atención. Muchas veces nos ponemos tantos objetivos que no llegamos a cumplirlos todos, al definir prioridades estratégicas también le das a las personas de tu equipo un enfoque claro y puedes delimitar tus acciones de forma clara a que todo aquello que no vaya dentro de dichas prioridades no distraiga la atención del equipo.
