Depending on the need, consider the use of an in-house or outside / consultant "expert" to break the cycle of OJT problems. Such "experts" can come from other industries, depending on the subject matter to be developed.

In Testing Documentation is key and status of test object or test suites approval should not be compromised when tested objects has defect, in a situation where the severity is low and stakeholders are not considering the effect it might have on the customer and the company itself. If quality is compromised obviously it will affect the company's loyalty and profit margin. Quality is paramount and it's importance differentiates a company from others. Let's remember Customer's are the reason for the business.

Keeping training both relevant and engaging can be a challenge if you are not willing to update it regularly and customize it for your team. Things that have helped keep my team engaged, especially during trainings they have received previously, include adding inside jokes and workplace memes to slides, changing the quiz questions each time, providing fidget items and coloring books for better mental focus, pop quiz questions with small prizes, quick group polls to show areas of less understanding, regular breaks and short group movement activities. Imagine being in your employees' shoes, what would keep you engaged?

If using case studies, scenarios or examples, try and use your own company forms / products etc., so that the trainees can easily envisage how it relates to their daily roles. Of course these must be anonymised to protect the authors, if showing examples of mistakes or poor practice.

From my Point of view it is very Important to customize the Training to be suitable for the product and the people working in the QA department of a company. It’s important to have proper procedures and processes in place to be able to assess any changes and ensure that everything that needs to be updated for accuracy, is. It can be easy to miss updates (especially simple ones), especially if you’ve got a large amount of content, so having a plan to follow for any changes is key. Additionally, knowing the SMEs to ensure accuracy of the information and pulling them in to review any changes prior to release will make sure the right information is going out to the rest of the organization and could limit the amount of revisions needed due to missing or inaccurate information.
