As an Instrument Technician the biggest problem is that most projects are designed by Mechanical , Electrical and Chemical Engineers with absolutely no understanding of the requirements of existing Instrumentation or New installations, ie pipes installed in front of Thermocouples and Annubars making neither accessible for Maintenance or Calibration. They lack of Qualified Instrument Engineers who actually understand the effects of both the process and the external environment on an instrumnets operation let alone knowing what is required to be able to maintain or calibrate without interferring with online operation. Writing a clear step by step instrument Maintenance Procedure is a technical skill that I see is Essential from the start

I agree. The most important part of a successful company is maintaining a daily,weekly and monthly maintenance on all equipment. This is important to create a less downtime on production.
