One thing I have found to be helpful is to collaborate with colleagues and mentors within your field. Engaging in teamwork and knowledge-sharing activities can expose you to different perspectives, foster innovation, and expand your skill set. Mentors can provide guidance, share their experiences, and help you navigate industry changes effectively.

Throughout my 7-month job search in the Electrical domain, my focus on continuous upskilling has been pivotal. In addition to honing technical skills, connecting with like-minded professionals has proven to be a significant motivator. Engaging with this network has not only provided valuable insights and potential job leads but has also created a supportive community, offering diverse perspectives and encouragement. This dual strategy of skill enhancement and networking has been instrumental in navigating the dynamic landscape of the job market within the Electrical domain.

One time at work during one of my thermography surveys in a Main Switch Board I came across a Hot Spot in a Lug of a Four Pole Breaker. At that moment all three phases were carrying almost the same currents. When I checked the tightness it was all right. Finally what I explored is that this particular lug was quite a bit undersized and strands of the cables had been cut marking poor workmanship. Hence higher heat was generated there. Subsequently, I advised the client to get the lug replaced immediately with a lug par with the cable size. The market changes day by day. In the good old days if the panel was heated up belief was loose connection or harmonics. But today we have more versatile devices to trace such events such as Thermography.

For this area of electrical engineering one has to keep oneself abreast of what new developments are happening in allied fields like microelectronics/communications, microprocessors/microcontrollers Laser Applications/embedded systems and ever changing expectations of consumer oriented as well as industry requirements. Electrical Design Engineer has to be an allrounder in these areas including Space/Military expectations with out-of-the-box innovations.

* Staying updated with the latest industry standards and regularly attending relevant conferences or workshops. * Attending online courses or in-person courses to stay abreast of emerging technologies in the field. * Engaging in continuous learning and reading whitepapers and technical papers in the field. * Collaborating with vendors and contractors to stay in the loop with their product update to provide insights into new technologies and industry trends * Joining forums and engaging with other experts in the field is to expand your technical knowledge. Participate in discussions, ask questions, and share your experiences. This interactive exchange with peers to gain diverse perspectives.

In the Electrical Field, you have to constantly learn and upgrade in order to keep your electrical design skills relevant in this fast growing and ever evolving environment.

Learning plays a key role in success. I believe that everyone who doesn't learn a new thing every month at least, shouldn't anticipate any promotion. Hopefully, these days, working environment mostly has a lot of things to learn, from technical subjects to moral. Ask your colleague who has studied a different field of engineering or science to explain a subject from his or her field. Pay attention to the language body of differnt people in an official meeting. There are several things to learn.

Relevant to existing systems and structures within organizations and to practices on sole levels, keeping up should transit within continuous professional development seminars involving both suppliers and designers on continuous assessment of new designs. Open and closed end discussions and debates would see as such all parties involved gain skills and knowledge on an on going basis.

Must keep update the technology and practise always and keep spirit to learning new update so can upgrade your skill and challenge new job

Electrical engineering are developing from all perspectives. Automation systems, self controllers and IoT devices are the key consequences of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics (IEEE) is community related to issue the legitimate guidelines and laws for not only Electrical Engineers, but also for Electrical devices. Joining communities, summits and symposiums will add experience. In addition, it will improve understanding of the engineering challenges. Moreover, this kind of international conferences will rise awareness of clean energy. And, how Engineering is contributing in the green transition. After All, The regulated laws will guideline how new design will follow green considerations.

Keep learning. Continually refine the process of risk assessment, design, implementation taking into account the lessons learnt from previous projects. Attend training sessions as these will expose you to minds brighter than yours. Make a deliberate effort to understand the reasoning behind the standards and codes you are complying with. These include the IEC, IEEE, NFPA etc.

Networking: Join professional organizations, attend conferences, and engage with industry peers to exchange knowledge and stay informed about emerging practices. Stay Inquisitive: Keep asking questions and seeking solutions. Curiosity and a thirst for knowledge are crucial in a field that's constantly evolving. Keep an Eye on Industry Trends: Follow industry publications, blogs, and forums to stay informed about emerging technologies, design practices, and market trends. Collaborate and Share Knowledge: Engage with colleagues and peers to share insights and learn from their experiences. Collaboration can lead to innovative solutions.

Adaptability and a willingness to embrace change are key in keeping your skills relevant in a dynamic market With a growing emphasis on sustainability, understanding and working with green technologies in electrical design can be a significant advantage.

Go shopping. Not always to buy new things but take a stroll down your local retailers aisles to see what the newest gear is coming out. Trade shows can be great for these but sometimes just make a stop by your local rental house or even lamp manufacturer can give you lots of new ideas

Design engineers need to spend time with the "boots on the ground". meaning, the electricians installing the equipment at the job site, the guys building the control panels, etc. They should spend (minimum) 15 days/year with these guys.

Be part of local and regional standards and codes development groups as these are places where you get network with industry wide professionals from different backgrounds (government, manufacturer, NFP, consulting, etc.) and get to know what are the latest tech topics being discussed and their relevancy in terms of long term application.

Extend the area of your knowledge. If you study Electrical Engineering, study an article about mechanical engineering or chemical engineering. Most of modern technology benefits from interdisciplinary. Furthermore, most of interdisciplinary studies haven't developed fully yet, and researchers of such areas will have the chance to promote fast more.
