I strongly consider that to gain petrophysics experience it is essential to keep reading petrophysical books from basic to advance topics, to be enrolled in courses, to persue a Master / PHD programs, to keep asking many questions to experts, co-workers, mentors, writing technical documents, papers, posters, to be involved in research and developed programs and have the great opportunity to be the most involved in work experience where more of the new challenge arrives. So consulting to experts are very beneficial and to serve to the community by volunteering as student leader when you can share your knowledge with others.

I think Petrophysics concept is the first and important step for a Petrophysicist. If we lose this step, we will have many problems in the interpretation. Working with different data without enough knowledge about basic concept causes obtain results with basic errors

I beleive practical experience is what shape your theoritical knowledge into a relaible tool to do the work. How you see the raw data develops as time passes and as you come across multiple case studies , at the end of the day the raw data and even the software you use to do the interpretation are just tools , it is your experience that transmit the visual evidences displayed in the form of data into valuable results.

Repeatedly performing tasks that require specific skills forms the basis of expertise. For instance, consistently generating interpretation reports for numerous wells using the same type of data can lead to mastery in that field.

Petrophysical analysis and interpretation starts with the visual inspection of the data (log plots, cross plots, histograms). Knowledge of the geology and stratigraphy helps check the consistency of the data interval by interval. Anomalous data are not necessarily bad data to edit, but data that need more understanding.
