The most effective way is to have a peer driven culture. A critical element between the startup and VC is vision shaping. Most founders are too proud of stubborn to ask for help. But it's the VCs job to anticipate and be proactive. Else, founders will only come to you after sh*t hits the ceiling, which is too late. As a VC, you can't be on our high horse and expect the founders to come to you because you have sage wisdom. It's easy to be nice to people above you. But it's hard to be nice to those who are below you. If this describes you, then you'll find it hard to be a successful VC.
