The most important is to have a clear feedback that can be measured in a way or another, try to not accept feedback such as something is not right, or it doesn't look good, push forward with questions until you get a clearer answers as for what can be improved.

To ask from the supervisor, we should be prepared. There are not always positive feedback on our job, there are also negative ones. If we get angry from those negatives, the others will not give us their feedback anymore. So being receptive is the most important factor to get prepared.

There needs to be a systematic approach towards feedback taking and feedback giving. It is wise to arrange an annual event to share the supervisor's feedback towards his/her team. This ensures, everyone is participating and it has a 360 degree feed back on scope of work! Finally, it ensures that the feedback giver is also feedback taker from their head!

If you want to get a feedback, start with below steps 1. Stay in contact with you manager round the year. How you frame your question is important. 2. Ask about his/her vision or goal for this year or quarter and see if it matches yours 3. You can ask about how others feel about you. 4. One common ques is to ask how other projects/products are doing. Then establish follow-up conversation 5. Be present during communication. If possible make note of everything. 6. What matters to them should matter to you. 7. Identify your communication style of saying "No" to your boss. If it is misunderstood, you are doing smth wrong.
