In short, have a risk-based maintenance approach to facilitate high system reliability: a. Perform FMECA to identify and know the critical components of the system per se. b. Implement redundancy measures for the critical components, where applicable. c. Prioritise regular maintenance, being a risk-based approach. d. Invest in good and appropriate materials of components which are critical, being a risk-based approach. e. Invest in testing, where applicable.
