I believe to gain a true understanding of the ins and outs of facility management, you need "hands-on" experience. Studying can assist, but by working in entry-level positions within facility management departments or related roles like maintenance etc. you will gain pratical on the ground experience.

If you are not sure if facility management is the right field for you , then definitely I would suggest you to intern at the reputed FM company. This will enable you to understand more about facility management operations, I have often seen people getting into facility management and regretting it later. So it's better to get an understanding of the job before getting into it! Internship is another way to get into a full time position, it will help you to build a good profile, and will again assist you in looking for opportunities in future. Some good companies where you can pursue an internship are CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, Colliers and ISS A/S.
