What are the most effective feature selection techniques for Artificial Intelligence?

1 Filter methods

Filter methods are the simplest and fastest way to perform feature selection. These methods evaluate the relevance of each feature independently, without involving any learning algorithm. These methods use regularization techniques, such as Lasso regression or Ridge regression, which penalize or shrink features that are less relevant or redundant. They also select features that have non-zero coefficients or importance values. Additionally, decision tree models split the data based on the features with the highest information gain or gini impurity, and select those with high importance values.
