Categorization of the requirement in terms of whether it's a Transactional or analytical system is the key thing when we start the data model design. Accordingly follow normalization or denormalization while defining the entities. Identifying data volumes to be stored both from data access and cumulative perspective. Target environment on which the data model will be deployed should also be considered where the Technologies like MPP, broadcasting smaller datasets while joining etc., Semi Structured and Unstructured data sets need to be treated based on how they would be leveraged in the business context and leverage technical capabilities offered by Python, PySpark etc., to address the requirements.
