Or where network connectivity via vpn to the desktop network is undesirable. For the use case where the team is only performing cloud dev, cloud ide is also suitable.

Most tasks are performed by SREs, DevOps, platform engineers, But every thing is not manual as hundreds or thousands of servers are involved. In order to develop and deploy, cloud CI/CD tools are used. Cloud CI/CD tools makes the deployment process super speedy which fast forwards the development processes in Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub actions, Terraform or any other tool. Some cloud CI/CD tools like circleCI, Azure DevOps, AWS deploy or Travis CI have individual configuration files which automate a large set of manual tasks and support end to end external integration.

Simplified devops tools- Draw the 8 point devops mobius strip diagram. Review how many tools you have for each devops phase. If you have more than one per architectural layer (application, infrastructure, automation) reduce down to one. Too many tools reduces automation delivery. Integrate it- Make sure integration of each devops system is setup and used by developers. Always fix broken devops

Not specifically "team productivity"; however, the value of Cloud Optimization is huge. There's an assortment of tools that can find savings, waste, and vulnerabilities. In the years of running a cloud practice, it was not uncommon to find as much as 40% in savings in a range of areas from orphaned environments, modernization opportunity, storage tiering, reserved instances, savings plans... running averages for before-and-after first time optimization ran at or above 20% savings. Depending on the scale of your consumption, this can represent a significant opportunity. It also leaves your cloud team more time to focus on value added work vs managing cloud sprawl and chasing ad-hoc cost opportunities.
