Ultimately, you'll want to learn the intent of your audience - what they wanted and why they came to you for your content. It takes a while to understand that and even longer to adjust to it. Just remember, data tells a "long tail" story. Don't look at a day, a week, or a month and think you're finished. You want to see how your content perform across many cycles that might include seasons, news cycles, disruptive events, technology changes, etc. In the short term it might be helpful to learn when your users are consuming your content. Time of day, day of week, and who they are and where they are.
