What are the most common methods to control a project?

In my experience EVM played a crucial role in stakeholder engagement. The visual representation of performance through Earned Value Performance Dashboard facilitated transparent communication. Earned value management is the commonly used technique to measure the and track the project costing. It helps to measure at any particular point in the life cycle of the project. Mainly focus the variance of planned and actual cost, Estimate to complete, Total point of completion cost etc.

Identifying critical activities and the corresponding critical path in projects has been pivotal. CPM allows for efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. It has been my go-to tool for pinpointing tasks that, if delayed, could jeopardize the project timeline. CPM's visual representation simplifies complex project structures, enabling strategic decision-making and fostering successful project outcomes.

In addition to the risk identification, ranking and response, risk quantification or quantitative risk analysis (QRA) is an important element in the whole risk management process. Risks without quantification are purely gut feelings. Only when the size of risk is known an appropriate risk response plan can be implemented, either its mitigation,transference, or acceptance which requires a contingency plan with sufficient resources. QRA is a technique to simulate the size of risks but also it offers a probabilistic view of contingency amounts that are associated with the size of risks. Key risk drivers identified through Tornado Chart provide the management team with an effective tool kit to reduce risk impact in a most efficient way.

As we guided change management in our project, a number of important factors became apparent. Above all, it was critical to communicate clearly in order to make sure that all parties involved understood the need for change and its implications. Transparent and ongoing communication was essential to gaining the support and engagement of stakeholders. Furthermore, it was essential to conduct a thorough risk assessment in order to foresee obstacles and develop mitigation plans. Our ability to adjust to changing conditions was made possible by the project plan's flexibility combined with a strong feedback system.
