In R&D, clear communication is as vital as technical expertise. To mitigate communication gaps, initiate with a "Communication Matrix" that outlines who communicates what, how, and when. To my perspective .. Primary reason for the conflict due to... Difference of opinion or understanding market demands, competitors and customer needs. This is due to Lack of Market Research and not involving appropriate people (stakeholders). In short lack of knowledge in current trend and vision for the future. These needs to corrected before move on to the other key elements - Scope, Budget ,Time and appropriate Cross functional resource as well.
