Many robots I build and work with have safety cages. These safety cages meet the Osha standards but in reality don't protect humans. If we had laser sensors within a specified distance from these cages or surrounding the cages that tripped the robot to pause this could prevent alot of accidents!

Educating human operators is indeed a vital step in enhancing safety in human-cobot interaction and should always be considered. However, as the cobots become more intelligent and more environmentally aware, the operators can interact more conveniently and more intuitively with them.

When you work with dangerous equipment, machinery every single day, complacency sneaks in. This is because it becomes your normal..switching shifts, taking breaks, rotating robotic operators often plus education can help. What helps when more is employers supporting true safety measures.

Collaborative robotics does not necessarily require the sharing of a work space between the operator and the robot during the execution of a program, but can only be adopted in the programming phase. For example, welding performed with cobots is not a collaborative application in the strict sense, as it remains a dangerous task. But operators can use cobots to easily teach weldings path using the manual guidance (also called free drive) function. In this way a human-centred use of robots is possible, as knowledge and experience of humans operators can be exploited with a teaching by demonstration approach.

Frequent inspections/ assessment of the operations and performance of robots is essential, this helps to detect any potential hazards, to address any other issues and keep the safety features up-to-date.

- One of important aspect is to track and monitor number of not standard events or failures. When you manage and can estimate from previous and present those events, so you can to improve the domains that have potential for improving. The second important aspect is to check if the domain that you want to improve someone else improved already, and in that case you can to enable it already and save your time and perhaps test with your potential improvement. Last essential thing is to ask collegues and try to brainstorming the domain that you want to improve and collect their feedback

El objetivo debe ser alcanzar soluciones que puedan ser certificadas como colaborativas, y esto no se alcanza incluyendo únicamente un cobot. El dise?o de la garra ha de tener en cuenta esa visión colaborativa. Los posibles puntos de contacto entre cobot y humano deberían de tener en cuenta la energía máxima de intercambio que define la ISO/TS 15066:2016 y toda la norma ya aprobada en el nuevo "Reglamento 2023/1230 de máquinas". Dise?ar e integrar equipos pensando en el usuario final ayudará en la misión de entregar una solución segura y plenamente optimizada, que alcance una rentabilidad y amortización en el menor plazo posible.
