Incorporating Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) into organization's security strategy is a smart move. It allows us to fortify our security posture by considering the intricate connections between our applications, users, devices, networks, locations, and data. In today's digital landscape, where traditional security perimeters have become obsolete, there's a growing list of potential vulnerabilities to contend with. That's where Zero Trust Security comes in. It's all about not assuming trust among our applications, users, devices, services, and networks within our security setup. This approach has been gaining significant traction in recent years for good reason.

I agree but it’s difficult to implement where there are too many legacy devices & practically I have seen it’s not feasible to put in blocking mode for applications where there high IOPS.

Its good to use ZTNA instead of traditional VPN authentication. Gives you more view on application authentication control as benefit.

I echo that! Starting with a zero trust security approach for new applications or startups is often simpler than trying to adapt it to legacy systems. It lets you integrate security as a core element right from the beginning.

Looking at the sophisticated attacks and their volumes these days, ZTA is the way to go. Initially, we may hit some road blocks such as mgmt. buy-in, budget, technology over haul as well in quite a few cases but definitely the ROI is gonna be the key. Classic examples are plenty to talk about that have affected organisations badly for ignoring security posture improvements.

Zero trust is still a buzzword and not many companies are aware of this. Also, OEMs which are providing zero trust suit are very costly. Since security is still consider as an after thought and infosec team are considered as cost center enablement of zero trust is very challenging. I would consider challenge 3: Cost as biggest challenge.

Zero trust addresses both insider and external threats with equal resilience. Users and devices both are key aspects of any organizations. When either of them is compromised, it can lead to data breach. Zero trust, rightly focuses on Authentication / Authorization for each user/device.
