A business continuity audit should focus on the effectiveness of the plan itself. If a distribution occurs, how quickly can operations get up and running using your plan? If you don't know, that's a problem. How do you fix it? One way is table-top exercises or dry runs. Identify issues, missing information, and opportunities to simplify. Make changes as needed. Run the exercises periodically. If you have the resources, try it. Time your team. Is that an acceptable recovery time? If not, improve your plan.
