The best ones are basic shapes ( lines, circles, plines,…) Even tho the modifications tools, annotations, … are so helpful, we reach them after starting with the basic shapes. Being able to know how to use all basic shapes tools is the first step to being better in drafting and annotations

In my experience, drawing in CAD should be performed true to size, for example, a road segment that is expected to be 100 units long is drawn 100 units long. The dimensions should snap to the element and report that true size of the line. Too often drawn elements are approximated, and dimensions forced, which will cause difficulties during construction. Dimensions are intended to communicate that length to the contractor so care should be taken to ensure correctness, and readability.

Editing tools are essential for every engineer, in addition to basic drawing tools. They enable faster and more efficient modification of files that are based on pre-existing templates. Many editing commands have subcategories that enhance the functionality and versatility of the tools. For instance, the scale command has a reference subcategory that allows adjusting the scale factor based on a reference length which is very helpful for me. To access the subcategories, the user can press the down arrow key after executing any command.
