Experimenting and playing helps me to stay motivated with photography. I have several projects going on at one time. Architectural, and two different abstract projects. This helps me to mix things up depending on my mood. With architectural photography, I experiment different ways to edit, time of day I shoot photos, and different angles. My abstract and conceptual projects allow me creative freedom and the ability to truly play with my medium.

Taking breaks cannot be emphasized enough. Photography projects require a lot of effort which at times can become exhausting. They can become exhausting so much that one can get a creative block which doesn’t speed things up. Taking breaks should be intentional. Schedule definite time break after working for a few hours. You can walk around, watch a movie or engage in conversations. Just do something that takes your mind off the stress and places you in a state that sparks your energy to work again. Taking breaks makes you rejuvenate, refresh your mind, regain your energy and stimulate your brain to be able to continue and complete the project.
