In my experience after introducing LMS to an Institution. I do create a 5mins user guide video that will touch on all the basics and also create a survey to measure if the video is resourceful . For example how to navigate through the LMS Platform. Create a menu for FAQ. That will list out all the frequently asked questions concerning the LMS. I quite agree with you. however I assume they have little or no understanding of the LMS so make sure the guide touches everything and provides support upon request is very important.
